I Can Save Pro Wrestling

Please understand my journalistic skills are a bit rusty. My passion, heart & ability to love are not. Proceed with an open mind.

For the last year I have sat down to write dozens of columns for this site and every single time it started the same way, as the words started to flow they became more negative, more negative, more negative… This site is about inspiration. This morning I again sat down to write a piece and I realized, http://ICanSaveProWrestling.com is useless inside a perfect world. What is Batman to a crime-less Gotham? Nothing.

In my interpretation of saving pro wrestling it isn’t about creating a huge financial swing, although that would be a side effect. My dream is to bring the art, positivity and passion back to an industry that gave me everything. Professional wrestling was something my generation could believe in. I don’t mean “believe” as in looks real, I mean it had men of character. People you could look up to, relate to, respect and aspire to be.

Let’s take a ride in the magic time machine. I’ve always been extremely closed off personally. not many know much about my pre-wrestling life. I’m not going to lie, it was rough. My father died when I was 4, my mother went into a deep depression immediately following. This is when I first met pro wrestling. Like everyone always says, I was drawn in by the colors, personalities & dramatic battles...at first. In the early 90’s my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer; it was beyond brutal. She was declared terminal with practically no time left, (she fought through for 15 years, but that isn’t the point of this story). I was a parent-less, directionless, 11 year old child. I was truly headed straight the f**k for disaster…then I found a pseudo parent, a direction & learned how to live life with honor, all from my Television screen. Bret Hart was my savior; the Hitman character truly saved my life. That character is what I strive to be in reality. I live to fight the good fight and make the world a better place. My mission since I was 11 years old was to inspire the citizens of the world to chase their dreams, live by their own rules & always cherish love, art and creativity. Don’t ever let the world tell you who you are or what you should believe in. Saving the world is an impossible task, but I am proof that if you save people one person at a time, you can at least make a little dent in the World’s problems. I will never stop chasing my dreams, you better not either, or my struggles are in vain.

This site is officially open. Tomorrow I’ll give one simple and effective way to get the most out of a roster. It’s so simple, yet too hard for most.

- Darin Childs, the man that can save pro wrestling.
